  • Being good at math is not evidenced by what you know, but by what you do when you don’t know. Assist students in constructing and applying “new” knowledge in ways different from those in which it was first learned. Those who express reluctance to look at math in alternative ways may be signaling an unrecognized confusion that is already present.
