Description:
We reported students’ early development of multiplicative structures through instructional support on fair-sharing tasks. A teaching experiment was conducted in a regular classroom before introducing multiplication. Some students were competent in comparing a fairly shared whole or collection to one share multiplicatively. Implications concerning CCSSM implementation and research will be discussed.
