Description of Presentation:
Through the theoretical lens of "smartness", this ethnographic study describes how one teacher perceived what it means for a student to be smart in mathematics and how perceptions changed through teacher/student learning trajectory-based clinical interviews. Results indicate that perceptions can be questioned and refined to impact instruction.
