Members of the US National Commission on Mathematics Instruction provide an introduction to the activities of the International Commission on Mathematics Instruction (ICMI), including topic studies, awards, outreach, and the International Congress on Mathematics Education (ICME). This international meeting, convened every four years, brings together researchers from around the world. Presenters will discuss the structure of the congress and encourage U.S. researchers to submit proposals to present work at ICME 13, to be held in Hamburg, Germany, July 24-31, 2016.
