I will share findings that describe how a meaningful question to explore can be leveraged as a pedagogical hook, giving students an opportunity to make connections, engage, and think about the mathematics of the lesson. Two teaching episodes will be highlighted to discuss how carefully planned questions impacted the quality of student engagement.
