Modeling is an essential component for conceptual understanding and is at the heart of most states' standards as well as CCSSM. In this session, we will use modeling to represent real-world situations involving fractions. Modeling tools that will be used include pattern blocks, number lines, bar models, area models, and a standard ruler.
