Description of Presentation:

Creativity and modelling are considered key factors in students’ development for the 21st century. A comprehensive study was conducted to explore the effects of a model-eliciting teaching unit on general and mathematical creativity with talented fifth to seventh graders. In this session, we will focus on our research-based operational definition of Creative Modeling Abilities, and on three features—appropriateness, mathematical resourcefulness, and originality—that were structured into a instrument for measuring students’ creative growth.
