91- Wading Pools and Water Wings for Problem Solvers

Thursday, October 20, 2011: 12:30 PM-2:00 PM
Room 312 (Atlantic City Convention Center)
Lead Speaker:
Mary Altieri

Teaching kids to be swimmers by throwing them into the deep end and then walking away doesn't always succeed. Teaching them to be problem solvers by giving them challenging problems and leaving them to “sink or swim” has similar results. Support strategies help all students succeed in problem solving.
