Examine the spatial concept of area by using paper folding and grid paper to create convincing picture proofs. We will then arrive at an unfamiliar formula that requires investigation versus memorization, thus challenging all students regardless of prior knowledge. Problem solving beyond drill and practice is guaranteed. Materials provided.
