Research has shown that algebra readiness and higher-level math requires automaticity of basic math facts. Math automaticity is the ability to recall basic math facts with both accuracy and speed so that the highest rate of fluency is immediate and at an unconscious level. We will discuss the critical role of math automaticity, how the Big Brainz program assists with fluency, and a student’s ability to learn more advanced math skills.
