Should curriculum be standards based or concept based? Should teachers focus on skills or is reasoning the end game? Do these ideas have to be mutually exclusive? With the recent changes in standards, assessments, and processes and practices, teachers often find themselves asking these questions. This session will share the story of our district’s journey toward a curriculum that embraces the standards and pushes students to conceptual fluency that we desire.
