28- Mathematical Models of Falling Dominoes

Thursday, October 20, 2011: 8:30 AM-10:00 AM
Room 301 (Atlantic City Convention Center)
Lead Speaker:
Hector Lopez

Participants investigate the dynamics and mathematical models of toppling dominoes including the optimum distance that dominoes topple at the fastest rate, a ‘Domino Chain Reaction” and a ‘Domino Effect Canon’. Various technologies are used to collect and analyze data. Finally, a review of literature on the classic problem is presented.
