Students often do not fully grasp that the Cartesian graph of a mathematical statement in x and y is a depiction of the set of ordered pairs that satisfy the statement. In this session, we look at mathematical statements (not functions!) and graphs that strongly encourage students to grasp the fundamental nature of a graph in meaningful ways. We will look at the graphs of statements that may surprise you, including sin(x)<sin(y) and ="" |x+y|="x+y." come="" join="" us!<="" div="">
