In content courses, getting prospective schoolteachers (PSTs) to talk about and try to make sense of the mathematics they are studying can be challenging. This presentation will describe efforts to engage PSTs in class and online discussions about relationships between the perimeter and area of polygons. It will also discuss influences on their learning.
