There are two goals of the presentation. First, we will examine the impact of the ROOTS curriculum on the math achievement of at-risk students. We expect that ROOTS will have a stronger impact on math outcomes than standard practice. Second, we will discuss implications for using a multitiered approach in early math instruction. RtI frameworks call for the delivery of high-quality instruction in general education classrooms. Therefore, we detail means by which math and special ed. educators can collaborate to enhance instruction and improve outcomes for at-risk students.
