Description of Presentation:
We discuss an18-month graduate-level program for teachers (grades 5-9). The program interweaves mathematics and pedagogy through an emphasis on functions. We examine the program's impact on teachers' evolving awareness of students’ reasoning, changes in classroom teaching, and students’ performance on state-administered standardized tests.
