Description of Presentation:
We describe how the assessment practices of mathematics teachers at an urban high school were influenced by their state’s standardized test. We found the language used on “the test” to classify students by their performance (i.e., Unsatisfactory) was utilized to label students and was used in both assessment design and assigning student grades.
